our feast
BYOB Wellington 'a pot luck dinner of pixels and light' happened again on the 22nd of June 2013 as part of the Lux Light Festival, Symposium and Urban Arts trail. (For more on Wellington Lux, please visit their ever expanding website of awesomeness here). The secret urban location was no longer a secret, Peoples Cinema at 57 Manners Street was BYOB's shelter for the night.
At a BYOB all participants/artists must be self sufficient, ie bring with them everything they need to install and project their work/ performance/ installations/ deigns/ idea/ experimentation/ nostalgic memorabilia etc.
Together we uncovered underground treats from the local arts scene. The rumor of a giant kaleidoscope, a tent, 3D glasses, analog vision bending, quirky appropriations, Maori futuristic, and re-imagined video art all manifested, be it projected into, around and throughout the venue. The result was intimate, poetic, hypnotic, playful and engaging. We were stocked that you came and discovered something wondrous with us.
If you are new to the idea of this event, please watch the video below of the BYOB launch, and check out some photos on the March BYOB page. Any questions please don't hesitate to contact us through our contact page.
Bellow is a list of some of the talent that offered up delicious treats for the LUX sampler:
